The original Tengen hit series Gauntlet is coming back on the PC through Steam and Steam OS.

Published by Warner Brothers games, as the first of many titles dropping from the “WB Games Vault,” the four-player smash hit Gauntlet will come to PCs everywhere in development from Arrowhead Game Studios – the creators of Magicka. Running in the vein of Diablo III, the new Gauntlet is every bit the hack-and-slash that it always played out to be, but with the addition of fantastic skills and stunts unique to your chosen class.

Given the same definitive character list that has stayed true since 1985, players may challenge the depths of this dungeon crawler with the Elf, Warrior, Valkyrie or the Wizard.

“With Gauntlet we combined the arcade style of the original game with an entirely new look and feature set that includes emergent, local and online four-player gameplay,” Warner Interactive’s senior VP of digital games David Haddad said.

“Gauntlet will be the first title in the WB Games Vault portfolio, which will provide us with an opportunity to access emerging talent within the game development community and match unique skills and experience with our extensive library of properties.”
