After nearly 1.5 years since the game’s release, Lollipop Chainsaw has finally sold its one millionth copy.

Announced by developer Grasshopper Manufacture on Twitter last Friday, Lollipop Chainsaw brought forth elusive details of the Cheerleader driven zombie killer. Launched in June 2012 by publisher Suda 51, Lollipop Chainsaw met median reviews and lackluster sales, where most of the game’s hype came through an exaggerated cosplay contest – a contest which ultimately led to more success for Jessica Nigri than the game earned itself.

Thus far only hosted in Japan, Grasshopper Manufacture has launched a discount on the digital version of Lollipop. No word yet on if the West will be able to take advantage of this discount, but the achievement is good enough for us.
