First announced for its push-back just before the “next-gen” launch, Mortal Kombat X has been delayed unofficially for a second time as of this week.
If Amazon and Gamestop are to be believed, Mortal Kombat X will miss its June release and has been pushed back on the last generation consoles yet again. Bumping their tentative release dates from the month of June to December 31st, 2015, both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions will likely wait longer to hit store shelves.
Launching on PlayStation 4, PC and Xbox One over a month ago on April 14th, MKX on the last generation could face extended development due to extended patching from the PC developer High Voltage Software. High Voltage Software is working on the last-gen port, even as they released the troubled PC version and they could well relate in this postponed release as NetherRealm Studios could be pressuring their company standard of excellence before another launch ends in failure.
Releasing on the Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment label, let’s hope that this doesn’t slip into 2016 because last gen users have to be clamoring for more of the greatest fighting title released this year.
