With a global sales front, Sony is enjoying some of the company’s greatest success right where Greatness Awaits – in the PlayStation brand. Having sold over 18.5 million PlayStation 4 game consoles since launch, 2014 came to a close on the highest of notes, well above the competition.

Having sold 4.1 million PS4 units during the 2014 holiday season, the PlayStation 4 is off to a stronger start than ever projected, just over one year after launch. In pairing with these consoles, Sony also notes that 81.8 million games have been sold for the PS4 since launch, averaging nearly 4 and a half games sold per console. These figures include both disk and digital sales for Sony.

As a final note, PlayStation Plus is more successful than ever with the PlayStation 4, as 10.9 million subscribers are hooked up with the program as of the beginning of this month. No word was given as to if sales figures included PlayStation Plus promotion sales where gamers can pick up titles for free every month, but statistically this is unlikely as someone with only a PlayStation 4 and PS Plus for the launch year would be guaranteed over 20 titles on the promotion to date [accounting for about 200 million game units.]
