Microsoft has been going through a lot of changes with its flag ship console, the Xbox One, and one of them has been securing great exclusive titles to entice gamers into adopting the Xbox One. Microsoft secured Titanfall, the next iteration of Tomb Raider, and has Halo: Master Chief Collection releasing tonight, but they have also been in the business of reviving some classic titles. Killer Instinct, a 2D fighter from Rare, was resurrected for the Xbox One as a launch title which has seen some success and became the first next-gen fighter. However it looks like Microsoft might be pulling another title from the Rare catalog since they filed a trademark for “Battletoads” on November 5th, 2014.

So could this mean that Microsoft is looking to revive more of the Rare library? Or just looking to use their assets for in-game content? Personally I’d like to see either a full makeover similar to what Killer Instinct received or and HD remake for the the Xbox Live Arcade. Battletoads is a part of my youth and a really funny game.
